2017 Casual Connect Europe: Event Preview

Next week, the AdColony EMEA team will join experts in the game and mobile marketing industries for a three day event of research, networking, and meetings. With over 100+ lectures and 3 sponsored parties, the 2017 Casual Connect event in Berlin is expected to be nothing but extraordinary.

To help relieve the chaos of choosing sessions, our team has composed a list of must-attend activities from the event schedule. Take a look below for our absolute must-sees at Casual Connect Berlin 2017!

February 7th

  • 11:30am, Hall 7.2: Taking AIM: Top 10 App Install Marketing Trends in 2017 with Paul West, Performance Director at AdColony. How do publishers continue to grow and capture high quality users at scale? Join West to see what is and isn’t working for the top 100 mobile marketers!
  • 1:30pm, Hall 7.2: Data Platforms: Why Nothing Has Changed Except Everything with Max Clark- CRO at mParticle. Understanding customers across multiple screens is more important now than ever before. In this session, Clark will make the most of his customer data and teach others how to do the same.
  • 8pm, E4 Berlin: Official Casual Connect Networking Party, sponsored by AdColony. The networking party will include the best and brightest in the casual games industry. Don’t forget to wear your conference badge for admission! RSVP here.

February 8th

  • 10am, Hall 7.2: Optimizing High-End Games for Premium Mobile Devices with Joe Davis and Jonas Gustavsson, both from the Samsung Research Institute UK. This session will discuss how developers consider the limitations of digital devices when configuring the efficiency of high-fidelity games. They will offer best practices and the newest technologies to keep development time to a minimum and increase fidelity of games running on mobile.
  • 1:30pm, Hall 7.2: The Death of Casual Games: You Won’t Believe What Happens Next… presented by Studio49’s Co-Founder, Todd English. The Casual Mobile Market will be explored in this session. English believes that all developers fall into one of three categories: The Incumbents, the Lottery Winners, and Everyone Else. Learn what these classifications mean for the development of new games!

February 9th

  • 10am, Hall 7.2: Anatomy of an Event: How to Improve Retention and Monetization via In-Game Events with Bryan Mashinter, Game Director at Backflip Studios. Mashinter will look at a variety of lessons learned from DragonVale’s limited-time events during its 5+ years on the market, including pre and post event metrics.
  • 11am, Hall 8: PANEL: Data Driven vs. Design Driven. Panelists will discuss what should lead a player’s experience… data or design? Both art and science are key to creating a successful game.
