Video Anywhere: Looking Ahead to Digiday’s Summit in New Orleans

Posted May 17, 2017

The next stop on the Digiday 2017 event tour is the Video Anywhere Summit taking place this week in New Orleans, Louisiana. The three-day event promises over 20 thought-provoking sessions and will be home to hundreds of industry leaders from over 70 companies.

Building a Content Universe
After Sahil Patel delivers the welcoming remarks & comments on the state of video, stay around for a session led by Andrew Sugerman, the EVP of Publishing and Digital Media at Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media for a session discussing how Disney has turned beloved content and characters into media brands through their investments in short-form video, streaming, and more.

The Need for Mid-Form Video
Understanding that the most engaged audiences have the appetite for more content, Isaac Showman of Reuters will take the stage at 3:15pm on May 17th to discuss why mid-form video and direct connections matter.

Showman will share “how publishers and brands can benefit from offering consumers a video experience that values engagement and loyalty over absolute scale,” a familiar concept to any mobile publisher who has embraced rewarded video experiences and who permit only the highest quality video technology within their content ecosystems.

Embracing Vertical Video
At 11:45am on May 18th, join this session by Phoebe Connelly, the Deputy Director of Video at The Washington Post for a discussion on how they’ve embraced vertical video by not only creating content in the format that users want, but also by investing in mobile distribution.

Pardon the Interruption
If the event’s been flooded by buzzwords by this point, then the 9:50am session on May 19th will be the antidote. Lead by Jaymee Messler, President of The Player’s Tribune,  this session will offer “speedy and unfiltered thoughts on the hottest buzzwords in video”.

Video for Commerce
Beyond fostering loyal audiences, video can also be used to drive measurable sales. Join this session at 10:05am on Friday morning for a refreshing look into how Popsugar Studios and MindBodyGreen are using video to drive commerce.

VIP Dinner
AdColony will host the official VIP dinner on the first night of the event. Invitees are encouraged to see the email they received from Digiday for information on where to meet. We look forward to seeing you there!
