What exactly does a Sr. Sales Analyst do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?
While the sales team hunts for money in the market, we hunt for it in data. We provide the field force with anything ranging from key accounts’ analysis, trends analysis, presentations for large deals, and 3rd party research insights, to name a few.
An average day is a combination of one or more activities from the above list along with a little bit of something entirely new & exciting.
Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony & how they have prepared you for your role here.
I was into mobile advertising for nearly 2.5 years before joining AdColony. So moving to AdColony was all about embracing the differences, bringing in learnings, and finding synergies with a fabulous team. I was fortunate to have someone’s hand to hold during the initial days to make my transition smooth.
What made AdColony the right fit for you?
The open culture resonates with my personality. There has been a great deal of fun & learning from everyone that I have come across.
I had my first meeting/interview with someone from AdColony (then Opera) and my first meeting with my wife on the same day. Now, looking back, I know that the 2 events eventually led me to make 2 right choices at the right time in my life.
How do you keep growing & learning in what you do?
I’ve managed to get my hands into multiple tasks related to my role, Clearly identified areas of strengths & opportunities and also was able to complete a couple of external certifications on Tableau.
What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
I am a part of an amateur cycling team, where we go on long rides and participate in races during weekends. When I get the chance to travel, I try to include some trekking or kayaking in my itinerary.
We have a formal team with coaches who are riders themselves. Some of us are on planned routines and we train as a team and even individually. The racing scene here has picked up momentum and there are a lot of riders who balance their work life, family, and their training just to compare against their previous bests each time they set out to ride. It’s a very motivating environment and makes facing challenges and pushing oneself to overcome it a very normal part across all spheres of life!
Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?
Ad Showroom app?? 🙂 it’s mostly Strava & Youtube – Nothing else really!
What’s one thing not many people know about you that you’re willing to share?
I do a bit of music recording once in a while and enjoy the whole creative process. This for me is very analogous to watching a painter start off on his canvas with a rough outline and then painting different parts of the canvas to finally reveal a beautiful picture. I mostly use only a keyboard to record my tracks and sometimes, what appears when everything is mixed, is so much more than the sum of the parts!
Do you have a nickname at work? If so, is there a story behind it?
What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?
Definitely the Go-Karting & bowling event last December! After a long day’s work, we hit the tracks, trying to beat each other on the track and gave it all we had.
Bowling was all about me getting ridiculed as I explained through the game how it was all about getting the physics right, to get maximum pins down.
