What exactly does an Account Manager do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?
I work on all Horizon business for the east coast. They are a huge client, so my day-to-day varies a lot! Lots of client communication, campaign reporting, RFPs, campaign optimizations, creative brainstorms, and kick-off calls to name a few!
Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony & how they have prepared you for your role here.
I’ve been in mobile advertising since 2013. All of the roles I’ve had leading up to AdColony have prepared me to be a better Account Manager here. I am thankful to have gotten to know Microsoft Excel very well before taking the job here!
What made AdColony the right fit for you?
When I interviewed at AdColony I loved all of the people I met and the passion they had for their work. The small office vibe was appealing to me, and the views of the city from the 30th floor really sealed the deal!
How do you keep growing & learning in what you do?
Each account I work on is so different and each client has particular ways of doing things. I’ve learned lots of nuances, and that is what creates good client relationships.
What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
I love to travel! 2017 was a great year for me. I visited two new continents! In November, I visited Australia and spent three nights on a charter boat at sea, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef, held a koala, fed a kangaroo, climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge and saw the prettiest night sky of stars I’ve ever seen! Last June, I visited Peru and hiked the long trail of Machu Picchu. It was extremely intense but breathtaking and fun! I also recently visited Thailand, went hiking in the Grand Canyon and took a trip to the Bahamas. Looking forward to my travel plans for 2018!
Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?
I’m a big fan of HeadSpace. It’s a guided meditation app! It is a great tool to help yourself learn to relax and take a break from it all!
What’s something not many people know about you that you’re willing to share?
I can speak Greek, Spanish & (obviously) English. I spent many years attending Greek School! Learning how to read, write and speak the language. I also minored in Spanish in college and spent a semester attending classes, bartending, and living with a family that spoke no English.
I also ran the New York City Marathon in November 2017. I was a part of an intense training regimen for 18 weeks and have run the entire perimeter of Manhattan, through all 5 boroughs of NYC, and over multiple bridges including: George Washington Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge & Manhattan Bridge. I personally raised over $7k for a cancer charity Fred’s Team at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Do you have a nickname at work? If so, is there a story behind it?
Matt Gibson deemed me the Aurora Queen because I was one of the first Account Managers to work on big accounts with the Interactive Video product we offer.
What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?
Las Vegas with the team last year was incredible! We had a really great trip with a lot of laughs.
