AdColony Receives IAB UK Gold Standard 1.0 Certification

AdColony is excited to have been granted the Gold Standard 1.0 by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) UK! This makes AdColony one of the first group of companies to receive the standard from the independent group. The standard encompasses across the entire online advertising ecosystem, including advertisers, ad networks, media outlets, and beyond.

IAB UK announced the Gold Standard initiative at IAB Engage 2017. The initiative is designed to raise standards in digital advertising by addressing three of the key issues facing companies who participate in the digital advertising space: ad fraud, brand safety, and ad blocking.

In order to be Gold Standard 1.0 certified, companies have to meet certain compliance criteria relevant to their company type. These criteria are determined by the IAB Gold Standard Group, which is made up of a wide cross-section of IAB members including agencies, publishers, and ad tech companies.

When announcing IAB Gold Standard 1.0 recipients in May, Christie Dennehy-Neil, Senior Public Policy Manager at IAB UK said, “As the industry comes under increasing regulatory and Government scrutiny it is critical that we continue to work together to demonstrate that we are a responsible industry that is taking steps to address the issues that have the potential to undermine trust in digital advertising, and to show that we can effectively self-regulate.”

The Certification should come as no surprise given AdColony’s commitment to ad quality and brand safety. In addition to the IAB UK’s Gold Standard 1.0, AdColony has also joined the Coalition for Better Ads, been certified for Security and Brand Safety by JICWEBS and DTSG, been granted independent certification by the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG), is a founding member of the Coalition Against Ad Fraud, and is the first mobile ad network with full compatibility for MOAT, IAS, and DoubleVerify standards viewability metrics!
