What exactly does Tech Support do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?
I work as Tech Support within the APAC team in Beijing, China. I am responsible for interfacing with our publishers/advertisers with any technical issues, along with suggesting product improvements, testing new versions of the SDK, and working with partnering companies that advertise and help facilitate app monetization.
Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony & how they have prepared you for your role here.
I worked as a programmer in the first two and half years. With my technical background, I joined InMobi as a Solution Engineer for one and half years, which is the same as my current role so it helped me get started quickly and smoothly after joining AdColony.
What makes AdColony the right fit for you?
AdColony has the most advanced in-app video advertising technology. I thrive when I’m supporting customers across all of APAC and have gained profound insights and knowledge from colleagues from other countries.
AdColony values employee development. How do you keep growing & learning in what you do?
I usually follow some official accounts about mobile advertising and gaming industries and seek knowledge from their posts. Sometimes I also join workshops organized by partnering companies.
How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?
I seek to share knowledge and cases across teams. I also developed some application utilities to make the teams work more efficiently.
Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?
I turn again and again to my brilliant leader Xiaolong Bao. We have been working together for 4 years since we were at InMobi. With his technical background, deep marketing knowledge, and five years working experience in this industry, he is THE expert! Personally he is an admirable and generous friend who likes to do people favors.
What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
I always love spending time watching movies and teleplay on the weekends. I travel with my friends several times every year. I like photography and am always happy to take good photo for everyone.
Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?
Honor of Kings: This is the most popular 5V5 mobile game in China and it requires good team work and familiarity with strength/weakness about each different character.
Tell us one or two fun facts about you.
I like playing games more than shopping.
What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?
There are so many unforgettable moments since I joined AdColony. On my birthday, my team prepared a delicious cake and gave me several amazing gifts. I was so moved.
What are you listening to lately? (music, podcasts, etc.)
Lately, I’ve been listening to the official soundtrack of A Star is Born.
What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 years?
To experience new countries and parts of the world. I would love to go to Australia, Europe & South America.
