What exactly does a Sales Manager do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?
No day is the same. LinkedIn has strengthened its market position and usage in the Norwegian market. 70% of our total workforce is on LinkedIn, and the advertisers have opened their eyes for the possibilities on the platform. My daily work consists of both physical and online meetings with agencies and clients where we discuss marketing strategies, content, data, campaign results, improvements and preparations for campaigns. It is essential to dialogue, and this contributes to relationships building which aids in the best results.

I also conduct speeches at different events about B2B marketing and the possibilities that LinkedIn offers. Speaking has proved to be a great marketing activity to increase our business.

Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony & how they have prepared you for your role here.
I started 3 ½ years ago, in 2015. I had already been working more than 13 years in the media industry with different media channels including tv, online, print and CRM. My broad background and relations proved to be beneficial when I started in this position. When I on-boarded, Opera Mediaworks had just acquired AdQuota the market in Norway was smaller and the LinkedIn technology less advanced. The acquisition required only a few hours of product training before I could start selling. I also remember warm welcome and friendly colleagues.

What makes AdColony the right fit for you?
I believe in and appreciate our teamwork across the countries. In a successful team, there is trust, openness to share and common goals. I have also learned that these conditions create the best results, and it is fun to be part of it.

AdColony values employee development. How do you keep growing & learning in what you do?
There are many areas where I sought learning and inspiration, for instance through my colleagues at AdColony and LinkedIn, and this can happen through regular sales calls or events where we meet.

LinkedIn also provides updated information through weekly meetings, training sessions and loads of content. Speaking of content; LinkedIn is a must to aid in the research of relevant professional content. I also rely on various other media sites for the most recent news.

In my spare time, I write media pitches and articles for newspapers to strengthen and improve my communication skills. The target audience is politicians and readers to put essential issues on the political agenda. This learning has been instrumental when advising our partners and advertisers on how to communicate and structure content on LinkedIn.

How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?
I try my best to share information and offer a helping hand when needed.

Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?
Many fantastic and inspiring people surround me. My husband Lars, who is my best friend, also works in marketing and communications. I also speak frequently with my Swedish and Danish colleagues on a personal and professional level and my colleagues at the head office here in Oslo. I truly appreciate them all.

What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
I love the Norwegian landscape and find my peace when being outdoor in the forest or the mountains with my family.

Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?
I am dependent on my gym app. It makes me compete with my friends on training and performance. Secondly, the mobile payment app called Vipps it is so brilliant and so easy to use!

Tell us one or two fun facts about you.
I used to compete in Thai boxing when I studied in England.

What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?
There are so many! To mention the top on my mind; when the strategic team suggests a specific topic for our newsletter the feedback from the Norwegian market was terrific.

What are you listening to lately? (music, podcasts, etc.)
I listen to Spotify and right now it is “discover weekly” – I love new music.

What are you looking forward to most in the next five years?
I am excited to be part of LinkedIn development in our market. We are helping professionals to be more productive and successful.
