What exactly does a Creative Director do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?
Hmm, being a Creative Director It’s a mixed bag, from ideation, briefing, visualizing, innovating to execute amazing campaigns. The job brings all the exciting things in a new package every day! I combine my forces with my fantastic team in India & Indonesia to deliver brand campaigns across the APAC region. An average day will include guiding and training the team, taking ideation calls, connecting with global & local groups for knowledge share and delivering storyboards or production links, etc.
Tell us a little about your experiences before joining AdColony & how they have prepared you for your role here.
I previously worked with many digital agencies like Dentsu, Tribal DDB and Ogilvy which lead me to develop a love for this mix of art and technology which eventually made me attracted to the mobile advertising space before I moved to Vserv. There I had gained in-depth knowledge about the mobile ad space which helped me get ahead when I started working at AdColony.

AdColony gives me the opportunity to interact with the brightest minds in the mobile ad space daily. It’s a collaborative working environment that keeps me well fed with knowledge from across the world while challenging me to contribute my experiences on a global scale.
AdColony values employee development. How do you keep growing & learning in what you do?
Reading tech or industry news is one way that helps me grow as well as engaging in competition articles and websites which keep me up to date and helps me share this information to analyze it further with friends and colleagues. Internally AdColony Slack is an ocean of knowledge for growth and learning, and I keep up to date different channels whenever possible.
How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?
With 16 years of work experience and knowledge and the attitude to listen, I could be the great help to anyone on my team. I am always reachable and available to help. Every month, I conduct training consisting of different tools. I try to keep it interactive, so they have the opportunity to come back with questions anytime.
Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?
There are 2-3 people whom I turn to professionally, and it depends on the situation, who is the appropriate person for this unique situation. Generally, for creative I turn to Brian Janelli, and I thank him for all the help.
What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
After work, I try to go for a short run to decompress and relax. Over the weekends I like to spend time with friends, play board games, travel or engage in sports. I like to play with my nephews and my niece whenever I have the chance.
Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?
Instagram is keeping me intrigued currently due to all my friends being on the app, plus Youtube for learning or entertainment content.
Tell us one or two fun facts about you.
I like to cook, and if you don’t mind me saying I am pretty good at it.
What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?
There are many moments, celebrations in the Mumbai office, office trip to Jakarta/Bali but that one moment which stands out the most was the office trip to the US for a creative conference in 2016. I was fortunate enough to meet all the creative & engineering individuals under one roof, and I also got to meet top management from across the globe. It was a great and fun session.
What are you listening to lately (music, podcasts, etc.)?
I’m currently listening to regional Indian music or anything that makes me dance to the musical tune.
What are you looking forward to most in the next five years?
I want to reconnect with nature and build a farmhouse far away from city life.
