Event Preview: GamesBeat Summit 2019

Posted Apr 19, 2019

Join leaders in the gaming industry for GamesBeat Summit 2019 in Los Angeles! The summit will be held on April 23rd and 24th with attendance by game developers and publishers, as well as industry CEOs, executives, marketers, and VCs. VentureBeat’s flagship industry event is limited to only 350 attendees (including our EVP of Publishing, David Pokress!), allowing for a more intimate experience with genuine conversations and networking opportunities.

The theme for this year’s summit is “Building Gaming Communities.” Fostering strong, active communities can be the key to success when games are dependant on loyal fans and strong word-of-mouth. Throughout the event, speakers will delve into communities for virtual reality, augmented reality, esports, and high-end games.

GamesBeat Summit’s agenda will include speakers from our friends at Jam City, Warner Bros. Interactive, IGN, and many more. Here’s what we’re looking forward to most:

The Landscape of GamingTuesday, April 23rd, 1:00 pm
Video game analyst, Michael Pachter, will give his insights regarding the current state of gaming and the trends that are on the horizon.

Eat or Get Eaten – Consolidation is ComingTuesday, April 23rd, 2:50 pm
Bernard Kim, Zynga President of Publishing, will speak about the company’s recent turnaround and the consolidation that is coming to mobile gaming.

Dealing With Gamers Across the DecadesWednesday, April 24th, 2:20 pm
Raph Koster, Veteran Game Designer, and Amy Jo Kim, CEO, and best-selling author, will discuss gamers’ evolving expectations of play and content ideas.
