Event Recap: Casual Connect Europe

Posted Jun 5, 2019

Casual Connect Europe returned to London in May 2019 and the AdColony team was there to enjoy the festivities! We joined leaders from established and emerging markets of the gaming industry for three days of lectures, networking parties, and showcases from the region’s best games.

This year’s lecture topics covered game design, esports, live ops, publishing, next-generation technology, and best practices. Here are some of the discussions we attended and what we learned.

Maximizing Your User Acquisition Campaigns
Unity Technologies hosted an informative session on their strategies to effectively run UA campaigns and minimize wasted spend. Their team outlined tips on how to find quality users while still reaching business goals.

10 Years of Angry Birds
After almost 10 years and 17 games released, Rovio looked back at the highs and lows of one of mobile gaming’s most recognizable global brands. The studio gave a candid account of how Rovio has managed the opportunities and pitfalls that come with success.

3 Useful Case Studies from Hyper-Casual Games and Ad-Funded Apps
SOOMLA presented 3 case studies from the company’s pioneering ad lifetime value measurement. The mobile monetization measurement company detailed how ad-funded app publishers can reveal the real value of a user and the data-driven marketing decisions that could translate to increases in revenue, growth, and control over data.

About Casual Connect
Casual Connect was founded in 2006 and has slowly evolved from a casual gaming conference to a global game conference that connects creative and business around the world. They currently host four conferences a year in Europe, USA, China, and MENA. The event series has recently re-branded and will be known as GameDaily Connect starting at their next event in California in August 2019.
