Posted Jun 27, 2019

Meet Johanna Nymberg, Sr. Publisher Growth Manager based in Singapore! As a part of the publishing team, Johanna maintains relationships with partners and analyzes data to ensure we are maximizing their revenue. When she’s not working, she enjoys boxing classes and is learning how to speak Spanish. Get to know Johanna in this week’s AdColonized feature!

What exactly does a Sr. Publisher Growth Manager do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?
I manage relationships with some of our top supply partners and establish strategic processes to maximize our client’s revenue with us. An average day includes data analysis and optimizations, conversations with clients to make sure we are aligned, reaching our targets and propose improvements. I work closely with User Acquisition, Business Intelligence, and Product teams to align our supply and demand to ensure client success.

Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony & how they have prepared you for your role here.
I actually didn’t have that much experience from the Mobile Advertising industry. After graduating from University back home in Sweden I moved to London for an internship at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce where I was helping them with their events and PR. After that, I went into the Online Gambling industry working for a website offering casino and sports betting where I was planning and executing their online campaigns targeting their Swedish players.

What makes AdColony the right fit for you?
AdColony is a very global company and I get to work with people from across APAC, Europe, and North America, which does not only make my job more interesting but it has also helped me to grow both professionally and personally. Working in an ever-changing industry with new technology and competitors every week makes the job more challenging as there is always something new to learn.

AdColony values employee development. How do you keep growing & learning in what you do?
By working closely with members from other teams with different knowledge than what I have. I go to a few conferences every year to meet with both clients and people from the industry which is a great opportunity to share learnings and experiences.

How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?
I try to stay up-to-date and informed about anything that’s going in the company and the industry and I am always happy to help out when needed.

Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?
Professionally, it would be my colleague Ipek Berker who works on the demand team. She has a lot of experience and knowledge from the industry from a UA perspective that I don’t have.

What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
I love fitness and health and after work, I will most likely go to the gym for a boxing or pilates class. I love traveling and exploring new places so on the weekends I might go and visit some exotic island near Singapore.

Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?
Duolingo, I am currently learning Spanish and also taking evening classes.

Tell us one or two fun facts about you.
I have lived and worked in seven countries: Sweden, Norway, France, the UK, the U.S., Australia, and Singapore.

What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?
There are so many good memories, but Gamescom in San Francisco 2018 and 2019 would be some of them. I got to meet up with AdColonists from all global offices, had great client meetings, and got to explore San Francisco and its surroundings.

What are you listening to lately (music, podcasts, etc.)?
I listen to a lot of podcast of any topic from documentaries, news, lifestyle, health to business work.

What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 years?
I relocated to Singapore in January this year so in the upcoming years I am really looking forward to trying to travel as much as possible and explore the APAC region!
