New Case Study – User Acquisition & FiNC

There’s no one magic spell for successful user acquisition. The best practices of user acquisition always challenge account managers to reach the target audience precisely and effectively via a combination of outstanding creatives, innovative technology, and continuous campaign optimization. AdColony partnered with one of our biggest publishers in Japan, FiNC Technologies Inc. to reveal our secret method to expand the reach and to escalate the install rates of the mobile app.

FiNC is a popular fitness/healthcare app recording over 9.5 million downloads in Japan. FiNC functions as an AI personal trainer that users can enjoy its simple and clean UI to record and track their diet details. As a successful healthcare app for females in their 20s, the publisher wanted to expand their target audience to males as well as females over 30 for broader reach.

In order to achieve wider user acquisition, we whitelisted and optimized apps that are particularly popular in each target segment. Apps were carefully selected from genres like comics, sports, and games (role-playing games specifically) for males, and games using well-known IP characters, puzzles, and farming for the female segment. In addition to app optimization, we leveraged our AdColony AppStoreKit ad format, which automatically redirects to the app store upon video completion, as well as a vertical ad with guided install feature to lead higher install rates.
