Get Your iOS 14 Nutritional Label Ready

Posted Nov 19, 2020

One of the hottest topics of this year is undoubtedly the disappearance of the IDFA in iOS 14. While the industry has been preparing for these changes to be enforced by Apple next year, there has been a lot less chatter about another requirement that app publishers will have to fulfill very soon. We’re talking about Apple’s “nutritional label.”

On each app’s product page, developers will have to share the data types the app may collect, and whether that data is linked to them or used to track them. They will also need to provide information about the app’s privacy practices, including the practices of third-party partners whose code you integrate into the app.

This information will be required to submit new apps and app updates to the App Store starting December 8, 2020.

If publishers haven’t already, they need to reach out to their monetization partners and have to make sure they are receiving written documentation on the kind of data they’re tracking from their apps. Because in the end, Apple will hold developers responsible for tracking activity no matter where it’s actually coming from.

We’ve got an in-depth guide available on our support portal to get you started and with the deadline coming up fast, AdColony has created an easy guide for Completing Apple’s App Privacy Details for AdColony SDK.
