AdColony, the in-app marketplace for brands, is excited to have been granted the Gold Standard 2.0 by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) UK. The standard encompasses the entire online advertising ecosystem, including advertisers, ad networks, media outlets, and beyond. This makes AdColony one of the first companies to receive the standard from the independent group, after also being part of the first group to receive the Gold Standard 1.0 certification in 2018.

IAB UK’s Gold Standard 2.0 introduces more rigorous criteria, requiring certified companies to implement IAB Europe’s Transparency & Consent Framework v2.0. By increasing cross-industry transparency and standardizing the use of consumers’ data, this certification is a significant step to proactively resolving privacy concerns within the digital advertising industry. In addition, Gold Standard 2.0 incorporates IAB Tech Lab’s sellers.json and OpenRTB SupplyChain Object – both of which serve to improve accountability within the digital supply chain and strengthen the industry’s ability to combat ad fraud.

The Certification should come as no surprise given AdColony’s commitment to ad quality and brand safety. In addition to the IAB UK’s Gold Standard 2.0, AdColony has also joined the Coalition for Better Ads, is certified for Security and Brand Safety by JICWEBS and DTSG, has been granted independent certification by the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG), is a founding member of the Coalition Against Ad Fraud, and is the first mobile ad network with full compatibility for MOAT, IAS, and DoubleVerify standards viewability metrics!
The Gold Standard is open to all IAB UK members who buy and sell digital media. It improves the digital advertising experience, helps compliance with the GDPR and ePrivacy law, tackles ad fraud, and upholds brand safety.
