Meet Syazni Sulaiman, a Technical Solutions Manager working out of our Singapore office! Outside of working with her team at AdColony, Syazni loves to cook and have game nights with friends, listen to BTS and Taylor Swift, and play match 3 games. Get to know her better in this week’s AdColonized employee spotlight!
What exactly does a Technical Solutions Manager do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?
We put out fires, basically. If there is a campaign that is underpacing, underperforming, has CTR/VCR/viewability/creative or tracking discrepancies, we step in to diagnose and fix them. A TSM works closely with the BI, TI, Product, Portal, Supply, Adserver, and Creative teams. We are the go-to person for the CSMs for any questions they have. Our job is essentially to troubleshoot campaigns that are having delivery issues and to identify and remedy any performance gaps.
Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony and how they have prepared you for your role here.
I majored in TV & Radio Communications in University, so my background was in Broadcasting. Before AdColony, I worked with ESPN, then I moved on to FOX Sports, and then onto a broadcasting service provider, Globecast Asia. I worked with a lot of TV content, which exposed me to all the different media and formats, which makes working with the creative team very enjoyable for me. I relish the challenge of building a creative, debugging any issues, and at the end of it, having the satisfaction of a well put together creative to present to the team.
I also managed a team of video editors and compliance officers which taught me how to manage team members effectively, how to teach or coach a co-worker, and how to juggle internal and external resources adequately.
What makes AdColony the right fit for you?
I feel the culture here at AdColony is why it’s the right fit for me. The support, not just from my team members, but also from colleagues from other teams and my Seniors, is very encouraging and uplifting. I feel heard when I bring up any issues, and I feel there is a willingness to grow and do and be better within everyone in the association.
AdColony values employee development. How do you keep growing and learning in what you do?
Asking questions and participating in working groups is a good way to never stop growing and learning. When there is an issue and I work with the Portal, Adserver, or TI teams, I learn and understand more about the inner workings of our tools. This allows me to learn and pick up new knowledge.
How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?
Anything to do with the AdColony Portal, Composer, or onboarding new partners, the team can reach out to me with any questions or issues.
Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?
I have a close group of girl friends who I turn to personally. Professionally, my manager Asim is someone I can turn to. He’s very knowledgeable, is always supportive, and always encourages us to grow.
Many global AdColony employees are still working from home. Do you have any work-from-home tips for success you can share?
Working from a desk setup works best for me. Having a dedicated work space helps me to be more productive. A good Spotify playlist helps, too. Stretching is also very important.
What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
I recently moved into a new home, so I look forward to hosting family and friends over for a meal and game nights (of course still adhering to the rule of no more than 8 people).
Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?
We Bare Bears: Match3 Repairs app. I love match3 games generally, but this got my attention because of its fun storyline and its regular updates and challenging levels. Plus, I play this with Lingsiu from the BI team and Kaero from HR, and we get very competitive, always trying to best the others and leveling up before the rest.

I LOVE traveling. I am a HUGE BTS fan. #ARMY
What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?
The SG team Christmas dinner we had on a yacht in 2018.
What are you listening to lately (music, podcasts, etc.)?
Taylor Swift’s evermore album.
What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 years?
Starting a family.
