AdColonized: Getting to Know Senthia Mayrosa

Posted Sep 15, 2021

Meet Senthia Mayrosa, a Sales Director from the APAC region, working out of her home office in Indonesia! Senthia loves being able to connect with internal teams as well as clients and agencies and looks forward to learning something new every day. She’s been with AdColony for five years now and loves how the digital marketing and technology industries keep growing and evolving every year. Outside of work, she is looking forward to doing more travel in the upcoming years and loves eating delicious food, being a mom, and listening to BTS. Get to know her better in this week’s AdColonized employee spotlight!

What exactly does a Sales Director do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?

This is my 5th year at AdColony Indonesia, and I have been blessed with so many opportunities to work with great and amazing partners. As a Sales Director, my main focus is to build relationships with agencies and brands to help them deliver their business objectives through AdColony product solutions. All the great work done in the last several years has been the result of these great partnerships.

My days start early with client meetings in the morning to track down potential partnership opportunities. Internal alignment with the team is also an important part of my day because that’s when I get updated on the running campaigns. I also spend time keeping myself updated with the latest news in digital marketing and the movement of digital talent in the local market. All these are usually done before I go to meet clients again to discuss any potential business opportunities (a presentation is always a part of these meetings). Pre-Covid, meeting face-to-face with existing or future clients was mandatory, and I would have at least three meetings per day. But since Covid, everything is done online without reducing the frequency of meetings. Possibly even more meetings occur because it’s all online.

Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony and how they have prepared you for your role here.

Starting my digital media sales experience in 2012, I have worked for different types of digital media channels from local websites and social media sales up to mobile advertising. I always knew I was on the right track because both digital marketing and mobile marketing continue to grow year on year.

From a digital sales POV, this experience helped me to understand the media landscape and develop business connections that are required for this role. Also, training that is provided by AdColony (which I’m still part of currently) also helped me to propel my knowledge, starting with marketing and strategy, up to client services/technical solutions, which I believe is key for my personal growth.

What makes AdColony the right fit for you?

For me personally, it’s the endless innovation in digital marketing and competitive environment that drives me. That’s how I know I’m in the right place.

AdColony values employee development. How do you keep growing and learning in what you do?

My mantra is to always be open to new knowledge and opinions from others. In the digital landscape, which is a fast-paced environment, learning from others is the best way to keep growing. Learning from an internal colleague or discussing with a partner (agency or client) always excites me and makes me learn new things. I try to keep up with the latest updates in digital marketing through reading articles.

How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?

I work to manage expectations between what the client’s business objective requires and the available solutions within AdColony. By doing this, I try to keep our clients requirements fulfilled but also make sure that our internal team is able to juggle the multiple deadlines.

Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?

Professionally: I turn to Priyanka Bajaj as my knowledgeable leader. With her sales experience managing multiple markets regionally, meeting clients from different countries, and still being able to manage the internal sales team in SEA, she’s an inspiration for me. She’s an amazing leader whom I can learn from.

I also turned to Jayesh Shivdasani, our country manager. The way he works so hard and learns about mobile advertising is admirable. He started with zero knowledge about programmatic but now is able to manage all the clients in the local market. He’s a very inspiring partner to work with.

Personally: My 5-year-old boy always tries to smile no matter what the situation. Even though he may not understand how tough my day is, looking at him trying to make me smile is always encouraging.

My patient husband, Wahyu. He is the meaning of patience, although sometimes he can be annoying, but his advice and encouragement are somethings I always listen to.

Many global AdColony employees are still working from home. Do you have any work-from-home tips for success you can share?

Get up early, do some exercise, get your morning shower, and plan your schedule for the day. Stick to it and don’t forget to take a break. Make sure that you also spend time on your mental health. For me, that means watching Korean movies, playing with the boys, and yelling to my husband to release my stress – I have a very patient husband. 😉

Send something to your team or client like food or something cute to make them happy while working from home, because if you share the happiness, it will be your happiness too.

Don’t forget to always be grateful for what happened today, because God still blesses us with health, a good job, and being surrounded by family and friends. Although being with family can sometimes be stressful, still being grateful helps a lot. 😉

What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?

Well pre-Covid, I’d love to go hangout with friends or family and try new restaurants or have a staycation at new hotels in Jakarta or outside Jakarta, or if possible, outside Indonesia to explore other countries. Also I like cooking and trying new recipes.

Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?

During the pandemic, I downloaded a lot of gaming apps to release my stress and also to see my ads, lol. Other apps I keep engaged with are Music apps and OTT apps.

Tell us one or two fun facts about you.

I’m a mother of three boys. It is very demanding but also lovable, and that fact itself is another job I have to do, being a mom. I also enjoy doing routine exercise including Pilates, TRX and LIFT for my “me time.” I love delicious food like seafood, Padang food, Chinese food, anything delicious, and as all women do, I love to shop online or offline. I have a huge scar on my arm because as a child, I was very active. I climbed the fence on my house and slipped; my arm was cut very deep, and it left a scar that’s still there.

What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?

My favorite moment was going to the stage and winning the award with our clients. At that moment, we felt our hard work had paid off. I also love how our client is very happy to work with us as a partner.

What are you listening to lately (music, podcasts, etc.)?

Music, especially top hits and BTS.

What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 years?

I want to have a summer house in Bali island, and after Covid, of course, I want to explore new countries and experiences in other parts of the world! Like the Northern Lights in Iceland, New Zealand, Europe, and also back to Makkah. If possible, I also want to try to work outside my country to explore how to work with others’ cultures, and the last thing I want is to have my own business.
