Paving the way for mobile advertising for years, Digital Turbine once again proved its strength in the industry and shared its knowledge at MMA SMARTIES MENA Innovation & Creativity Days. The two-day event in Dubai, UAE took place in person on the first day and was virtual on the second day. Innovation & Creativity Day welcomed 33 industry professionals from different brands at 17 different panels to discuss all the hot topics and trends in the mobile industry.
On the virtual day, Digital Turbine’s Head of Marketing, EMEA & LATAM Melisa Matlum presented the ad attention approach of the mobile users in the Middle East. Matlum explained what apps Middle Eastern users mostly visit, which mobile devices they prefer, which ad formats and which apps they prefer to encounter on their devices, what gets their attention on online ads, and which features are important for users on online ads.
On the in-person day, Johny Saad, Regional Sales Director of MENA, moderated a panel of industry experts. Head of Digital, Middle East of Reckitt Esra Ezibay, Regional Digital Director of UM James Dutton, and Media and Digital Manager GCC and Africa of Colgate-Palmolive Wisam Yamak discussed the challenges advertisers face to capture and hold their viewer’s attention.
“It is not easy to measure the attention of the consumer in any medium, especially in the mobile advertising world, and despite this, we know that it is something that all advertisers and marketers want to achieve to consider the positive results obtained after catching the attention of the consumer at the maximum level. We know that maximizing the interaction and attention of the consumer with the advertisement has positive effects such as the retention of the advertisement and the brand, triggering the purchase, and so on.”

During the Gala Dinner, the winners of MMA Smarties MENA were announced. Digital Turbine is proud to announce that it has won six awards with five captivating campaigns.
