AdColonized: Getting to Know Olga Kravtsova

Posted Mar 12, 2020

Meet Olga Kravtsova, Senior Account Manager in our Berlin office! Olga has been with AdColony since 2016. She currently does a fantastic job serving our Eastern European clients. In her free time, Olga is busy exploring the great outdoors, seeing the latest films, or listening to Coldplay. Get to know Olga better in this week’s AdColonized feature!

What exactly does a Senior Account Manager do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?

I manage some of AdColony’s top clients from Eastern Europe out of the Berlin office. My goal is to make sure their campaigns receive the best from our platform: gets the scale, hits KPIs, reaches the best supply, has a chance to test different creative formats, and matches all requirements.

On an everyday basis, I work closely with Ops, Growth, Creative, and BI teams. The first half of the day I would usually spend on client calls to discuss the performance and get updates. The optimizations, performance suggestions, reports, and campaign analysis will come after the calls. I also attend key industry events which give me the opportunity to meet clients personally and learn about market updates.

Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony and how they have prepared you for your role here.

With my master’s in philology, I worked as an interpreter and translator at a construction company. I received some operational experience at a logistics company. I also received great management experience and customer service skills while working at the Odessa International Film Festival.

I joined AdColony (former Opera Mobile Store) in August 2013 as a BD Manager and started to learn about mobile, games, and advertising. In 2015 I moved to Ireland and joined the Dublin office as Account Manager. In 2017, I was very lucky to move to Germany and join the best team in Berlin.

What makes AdColony the right fit for you?

The Team 🙂 The team is the core, the faces who stand in front of any algorithm.

I’m excited and motivated to work with a team where I can get great expertise, friendship, advice, support, a helping hand, and knowledge, but also lots of fun when we have coffee breaks, eat out, or travel together.

AdColony values employee development. How do you keep growing and learning in what you do?

AdColony regularly works on new products and features. I learn from the Product team and my co-workers. I learn to communicate these updates to clients and analyze new test campaigns. This makes my work challenging and dynamic. Also, Berlin offers a wide range of industry events where you can gain a lot of knowledge and contacts.

How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?

I work on a team of five in the Berlin office and we always share knowledge and experience. It is an informational and operational funnel. I love to be a part of it because I can help and cover for one of my teammates, share some experiences, and learn a lot. I’m also happy to share my knowledge with fellow team members from the Istanbul office.

Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?

Jenny Wallen is the person I turn to personally and professionally. She is a very reliable and supportive co-worker and friend. She gives the perfect example of motivation, life balance while managing top clients, and achieving her personal goals. I’ve learned a lot from her and I am very thankful for this experience.

What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?

I am addicted to morning gym sessions. In the evening, I go to the cinema, standup comedy shows, or check out a new restaurant. Luckily Berlin has a lot to offer for any taste.

Hiking, kayaking, and cycling day tours out of town have become my new habits recently. So if the weather allows, I will be out on a new adventure.

Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?

Spotify. I listen to my favorite music and podcasts. It is very handy and matches all my needs.

Tell us one or two fun facts about you.

I started watching Game of Thrones because we promised a client a QBR in Game of Thrones style. I got addicted and watched 8 seasons in 3 months.

I rode in a hot air balloon over Saxonian Switzerland and received a special name – “Prinzessin Olga von Berlin, im schönen Sonnenaufgang schwebende Ballonfee, über den weiten sächsischen Fluren“ which I should know by heart. If any hot air balloon rider asks me my full name and can’t tell it, I owe him/her a crate of beer.

What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?

One of my favorite AdColony team moments was cosplay day at Gamescom. We all dressed up and merged into the crowd of cosplayers for the whole day. It was a lot of fun to hear ”Waldo, I’ve found you!” I can highly recommend this new experience!

What are you listening to lately (music, podcasts, etc.)?

I’m listening to the latest Coldplay album. I find it great and have some songs on repeat.

What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 years?

Learn German fluently, travel the world with my partner and maybe I will write a book.
