Meet Anna Su, our Senior Director of Performance Creative who works from her home office in Oregon! Anna has been working with the creative team at AdColony for over five years. She loves exploring the great outdoors, playing puzzle games, and Halloween. Get to know her better in this week’s employee spotlight feature!
What exactly does a Senior Director of Performance Creative do at AdColony? What’s an average day like for you?
I oversee the multitude of creative requests that come in from the Performance teams for videos, playables, and everything in between. This includes making sure our designers are equipped with the insight and data to create top-performing units, working with demand teams to help lift campaign spend, and collaborating with product/tech to make sure we have the tools we need to make the magic happen.
Tell us a little about your experiences prior to joining AdColony and how they have prepared you for your role here.
My background working in music, film, and creative agencies provided great experiences that helped me transition well into managing creative production.
What makes AdColony the right fit for you?
I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many talented people in my 5.5 years here! I’ve also been able to find co-workers who are so willing to do wacky group Halloween costumes together…
AdColony values employee development. How do you keep growing and learning in what you do?
I appreciate the space that is offered to explore different ideas and solutions. As part of the creative team, it’s so important that we’re able to let the juices flow and test new concepts.
How do you act as a resource for the rest of your team?
I like to think that I help keep things organized and running smoothly. There are a lot of moving parts to production and I act like a second pair of eyes to make sure we’re delivering the best creatives we can.
Is there someone you turn to personally or professionally?
There is so much talent within our global creative team and everyone is so willing to take the time to teach each other new skills. I just ping our creative channel on Slack and usually someone has the answers!
As someone who regularly works from a home office, do you have any work-from-home tips for success you can share?
Take regular breaks that force you to move your body and set a time to be done answering emails at the end of the workday.
What are your hobbies or activities that you look forward to doing on the weekends or after work?
I live close to many great outdoor spaces so I try to get outside as much as I can. In the summer, this includes hiking, camping, and floating the river.
Which app is keeping you engaged lately? Why?
I download a lot of apps for getting game capture. It gets dangerous because I get addicted to puzzle games and can’t have them on my phone for very long. The last one I had to delete (for the 3rd time) was Solitaire Cube.
Tell us one or two fun facts about you.
I have three naughty chickens who love to destroy my garden.
What is your favorite moment you’ve had with the AdColony team so far?
We had a creative summit last year in Istanbul and it was great to meet our global team in person and have them so graciously share their beautiful city with us.
What are you listening to lately (music, podcasts, etc.)?
The last artist I listened to was Django Reinhardt.
What are you looking forward to most in the next 5 years?
I planted some fruit trees this year and apparently it takes YEARS for some trees to bear fruit. Hopefully in 5 years, I’ll be able to have an abundant harvest of fresh fruits to last all summer long.
